PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE

Bilateral Conference on Ukraine Reconstruction

Rome – Palazzo dei Congressi, 26 April 2023

On Wednesday 26 April 2023, Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome will host the Bilateral Conference on Ukraine Reconstruction.

The conference – which will be attended by around 700 guests including representatives from the business world, as well as the main international financial institutions and trade associations – is an opportunity to receive, directly from the Ukrainian authorities, information on what is needed to rebuild the country, and to allow the Italian government, institutions and companies to formulate concrete proposals to meet Kiev’s needs, both in terms of fast and medium- to long-term recovery.

The Conference will begin at 08:45 a.m. with a closed session consisting of 7 Thematic Tables on as many sectors identified as priorities for reconstruction, such as infrastructure and transport, energy and environment, agro-industry, health, digital and services, space and aviation, and steel industry.

From 10:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. a Plenary Session will be held, featuring institutional speeches by the Italian and Ukrainian authorities. The proceedings will be introduced by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, and Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti. The competent Ukrainian ministers will also be present.

The conclusions of the conference, preceded by the speech of Confindustria President Carlo Bonomi, will be entrusted to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The Plenary Session, including the conclusions of the two Prime Ministers, will be open to the press and streamed live on the YouTube channel of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the end of the Plenary Session, closed-door B2B and B2G meetings will be held so as to make the Italian support concrete and efficient.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the Plenary Session in person may apply for accreditation by sending their request by no later than 10 a.m. on Monday 24 April by e-mail to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432, 3078, 8210 or 8573).
