Dear President Zelensky, dear Volodymyr, dear Colleagues,<\/p>\n

The illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation remains a very serious violation of that system of rules and principles universally recognised in the UN Charter that guarantee peaceful coexistence between Nations. It is a violation of the territorial integrity of a sovereign Nation, which tramples the rights of peoples who do not want to give up their identities, and remains so even ten years later. Considering Crimea as part of Russian territory is a piece of the Russian propaganda that we need to know how to counter, despite the fact that it finds support in some geographical maps circulated even in Western media.<\/p>\n

Since the start of the Russian invasion, Crimea has also become a base for Russia’s deliberate attacks against civilians and critical infrastructures. But Russia has not been able to break Ukraine’s heroic resistance, and our cohesiveness and unity of purpose have secured Ukraine the aid it needs in order to defend its own freedom. This is a value, which we must cherish if we want peace to be restored in the heart of Europe.<\/p>\n

Dear Volodymyr, we will continue to stand by your side. Italy will do so, also as G7 presidency, because our goal is to put an end to this war and help Ukraine along its path towards a future grounded on peace, freedom, and prosperity. Looking to Ukraine’s future also means thinking about its reconstruction, which must be supported in concert with international financial institutions. We intend to do our part, and in 2025 we will host the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Italy.
\nUnity is our strength, and the Ukrainian people can continue to count on us.

Caro Presidente Zelensky, caro Volodymyr, cari colleghi,<\/p>\n

l\u2019annessione illegale della Crimea da parte della Federazione Russa rimane una gravissima violazione di quel sistema di regole e principi universalmente riconosciuti nella Carta dell\u2019ONU che garantiscono la pacifica convivenza tra le Nazioni. \u00c8 una violazione dell\u2019integrit\u00e0 territoriale di una Nazione sovrana, che calpesta i diritti delle popolazioni che non vogliono rinunciare alla loro identit\u00e0 e rimane tale anche a distanza di dieci anni. Considerare la Crimea parte integrante del territorio russo \u00e8 un tassello di quella propaganda russa che dobbiamo sapere contrastare, nonostante trovi sponda nelle mappe geografiche diffuse anche su alcuni mezzi di comunicazione occidentali.<\/p>\n

Dall\u2019inizio dell\u2019invasione russa, la Crimea \u00e8 diventata anche una delle basi da cui partono i deliberati attacchi russi contro i civili e le infrastrutture critiche. La Russia non \u00e8 riuscita a piegare l\u2019eroica resistenza ucraina, e la nostra compattezza e unit\u00e0 di intenti hanno garantito all\u2019Ucraina gli aiuti necessari per difendere la propria libert\u00e0. E questo \u00e8 un valore, che dobbiamo sapere proteggere, se vogliamo far tornare la pace nel cuore dell\u2019Europa.<\/p>\n

Caro Volodymyr, continueremo ad essere al vostro fianco. Lo far\u00e0 l\u2019Italia, anche in qualit\u00e0 di presidenza G7, perch\u00e9 il nostro obiettivo \u00e8 mettere fine a questa guerra e aiutare l\u2019Ucraina nel cammino verso un futuro di pace, libert\u00e0 e prosperit\u00e0.
\nGuardare al futuro dell\u2019Ucraina significa anche pensare alla sua ricostruzione, che va sostenuta anche di concerto con le Istituzioni finanziarie internazionali. Intendiamo fare la nostra parte, e nel 2025 ospiteremo in Italia l\u2019Ukraine Recovery Conference.<\/p>\n
